Location

Ripley Ontario is located in the Township of Huron-Kinloss, one of 8 municipalities of the County of Bruce.
It's branding slogan is Homemade/Hands On which is a perfect fit for a food garden that can promote and participate in food product development and offer hands on workshops.

The Township of Huron-Kinloss has strong leadership for innovative projects and assists in bringing wonderful long range plans for community revitalization to fruition.

With a growing arts-based business community, they also have goals for becoming a prime tourist destination and have already identified the need to address the aging demographic - our senior population- who continue to have much to offer their communities through their vast experience and volunteerism.

Hosting the largest Fall Fair in Bruce County (150 YEARS STRONG IN 2013), Ripley also has strong public participation and a keen interest in promoting agriculture, farming, and the wide ranging benefits of rural life.

Ripley is less than 7 miles to the shores of Lake Huron and 10 minutes to its neighbouring communities of Lucknow and Kincardine

The map below (thank you Google Earth) shows the location of the township lands on which the Gardens will be located. The land is not appropriate for industrial development due to proximity of existing residential land.  It is also not available for development of residential lots due to setback requirements from the municipal settling ponds.  However, the site's proximity to a settled senior development, other recreational fields, and the new development of  the trails which will pass immediately to the west of the site are excellent opportunities for the Gardens.  The site is also in direct walkable distance to the downtown core and is easily accessed directly from Bruce Road 7,  a good transitional road from Highway 86 to a quiet rural setting.

The site already has available parking and the land has been used for agricultural crop production.
